The Best Moisturizers for Men

For some reason, the gents always get overlooked when it comes to skincare tips. I guess we all assume that their skin is tougher than ours. Well, maybe it is a little tougher than ours, perhaps thicker but it still needs TLC. With the colder months approaching you will notice that your skin is beginning to change. Maybe, it’s a little more sensitive or dry? Maybe it’s a combination of both. In fact, a lot of people tend to suffer from breakouts and skin allergies as the weather transitions. Another important thing to note, men want to age as gracefully as women do. I am going to let you in on the ultimate fountain of youth secret, moisturize! Yes, aside from eating well and drinking good amounts of water. You must, I repeat YOU MUST moisturize your skin. You must protect it from the outside elements; there’s no escaping this.

Finding a good moisturizer these days can be a little tricky with so many products on the market. It’s important to look out for key beneficial ingredients since not all moisturizers are made the same. Try to go as natural as possible. You don’t want to apply products to your skin that will cause irritations or breakouts. Of course, as your virtual girlfriend, it’s my duty to lead you in the right direction. I am here to help and I will say there’s nothing worse than going to a guy’s house and there’s no moisturizer in sight, just a bar of soap…ugh! This is just not okay ever. Simplicity is great but please, please moisturize.

All Star Key Ingredients:

Rose Hip Oil, Sunflower Oil, Olive Oil, Jojoba Oil, Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Aloe Vera, Rosemary Oil and Vitamin E and A.

Buckler’s Remedy  – Daily Face Repair ($48.00)Buckler's Daily Facial Repair

I like this brand because it’s all natural and designed for the colder months. More importantly, it’s a unisex brand that works both well on her soft delicate skin and his tough thicker skin. Buckley’s Daily Face Repair is great for sensitive skin. Some of it’s key ingredients: Sunflower Oil, Rose Hip, Grapefruit Seed Extract and Olive Oil. Another added benefit to this moisturizer is that is repairs your skin and prevents future breakouts with a nice dose of Vitamin E, A and Aloe Vera.

Anthony – Facial Moisturizer SPF 30  ($33.00)

The objective of this moisturizer it to SAVE YOUR FACE. With this bold statement how can one resist giving it a try. If you are beginning to see your skin age, this moisturizer contains Sugarcane, Sugar Maple, Orange and Lemon Extracts (natural AHAs) which aid in wrinkle reduction and prevention. Apricot Kernal Oil will soften the skin while the addition of vitamin A will encourage collagen production and Vitamin E an antioxidant that will soothe and calm your skin. It also contains Vitamin C a great skin brightener that will erase dark spots overtime.

Kiehl’s – Face Fuel ($34.70/2.4oz)

I hope you know by now that your skin is the largest organ. We fuel our bodies but we often forget how important it is to fuel our skin. Protecting the skin you’re in is very important and this is something you should never short change. Thankfully Kiehl’s gets it. This brand is known for it’s skin saving products. They have specifically designed a product line for men. This particular moisturizer combats post shaving redness and razor bumps. It’s made with Chestnut Extract which helps the skin maintain it’s lipids due its barrier maintenance ability. What does that mean? Well it’s a good defence from the various environmental elements your skin faces. It protects and creates a barrier that seals in moisture. With Vitamin E and A, your skin’s appearance and texture will improve with continued use.

Jack Black Protein Booster Serum ($86.04)

Serums are a great addition to your skincare routine. You can use a serum on it’s own (post shaving), mix it with your moisturizer or apply before or after you moisturize.  Generally, serums are meant to be used with a complimenting moisturizer. They deeply penetrate the skin and it’s good to apply while your skin is still damp after washing your face (obviously not soaking wet, you know what I mean). Jack Black’s Protein Booster Serum, is a popular serum among men, it fights and reduces wrinkles, promotes collagan production and improves the overall appearance (brightens) and texture of skin. If you want a nice smooth finish definitely get a bottle of this serum. A little goes a long way so don’t gasp at the price. A few star ingredients include: Jojoba Oil, Coconut Oil, Aloe Vera and Rosemary Oil.

There you have it! You should be well on your way to good skin. More importantly, well protected skin during the colder months of the year. The brands I mentioned above offer more products for you to look at. Take a look at some of the cleansers or shaving creams as well. They use great ingredients that your skin will love.
