So many books on Audible to choose from. If you are like me, and most people, those credits matter. You want to use them on a book you will enjoy. In the case of Audible books, it’s as much about the book as it is about the narrator. As you know, we focus on the good things, the life lessons in The Things I Wish I Knew. I recommend things I like. There is so much negativity for you to consume elsewhere, so here, we are about sharing the good things and how to make your life better. It’s about teaching you something you may not know or introducing you to something that may enliven and add some joy to your life.

I feature book recommendations in the Things Shop section of this site. I like to purchase the physical copy of books and also get the audiobook so I can listen to it while I work out. It is also a great way to recap a book and let your imagination dive deeper into the characters and the story. It is a great enactment of the book, hearing the narrator add emotion to the characters, something you most likely don’t do while reading it. It is having the best of both worlds, one at your fingertips because books are always worth their weight in gold, but hearing the story transforms it and brings the story to life in a beautiful way.

So, here are the books I have listened to on Audible:

If You Tell: A True Story of Murder, Family Secrets, and the Unbreakable Bond of Sisterhood by Gregg Olsen

This book, I don’t think I can prepare you for this book. I will never give spoilers, but it kept me on the elliptical for over an hour. It’s that scream-in-the-air kind of book. It’s the I cannot believe this is happening ” kind of book. Trust me, listen to it!

Throne of Glass: Throne of Glass, Book 1 by Sarah J. Maas

I listened to this entire series. If you are having a hard time getting into any of Sarah J. Maas books, Audible is a good way to start. You will most likely want to buy the books as well! The narrator, Elizabeth Evans, does a great job narrating these books, since they need the right voice and emotion. She does this effortlessly, perfectly! There is an order to this series; I started with Throne of Glass (Book 1), but some people start with The Assassin’s Blade (Prequel), and others add it later in their reading journey.

The Mastery of Love: A Practical Guide to the Art of Relationship, A Toltec Wisdom Book by Don Miguel Ruiz

Life mastery books are also in my Audible library; this is a life lessons website, after all. I have loved this author’s books for many years; I have read them, so it’s been wonderful adding them to my listening library. A lot of great insights and tools you can apply to life, and also a point of view that will inspire you to think beyond your limitations. Living your best life is indeed up to you. We may not be able to control what is happening around us, but what is happening within you and your actions as a result of this is the secret. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I do!

The Laws of Human Nature by Robert Greene

Greene books require focus on critical thinking. They’re not the kind of books you fluff through, nor would I classify them as self-help books. I suggest you listen and also get a physical copy, a few highlighters, and a notebook. Welcome to the school of Robert Greene; the best class is in session!

From Blood and Ash: Blood and Ash, Book 1 by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I have to admit, it took me a few chapters to get into this series. But here we are, listening to Book 2 of this amazing series by Armentrout. It’s safe to say this genre of books has become a favorite of mine. Once I get through the 2nd book, you will most likely see it on my ” What I’m Listening To ” Audible list.
