Mastering the “Naked Faced”

Put your brush down and that overused eyeliner you need to replace. I am kidding! I am sure you stay up to date on replenishing and cleaning out your makeup bag. Well, I have good news for you. Wearing no makeup or barely their makeup is in. Yup, I am not kidding.

I am a big fan of this trend, the naked face. What does it entail? Well, it means you wear no makeup or minimal makeup. Your goal is to look natural and let the real you shine through. It’s really easy and will save you a lot of time in the morning. I am always amazed by the skills of women who manage to do their makeup while driving or on the subway as it screeches to an abrupt halt; risky makeup affairs.

I don’t wear a lot of makeup. In fact, I am known not to wear any at at..seriously. I get asked all the time what I put on my face and what foundation I use. On a daily basis, I don’t use any makeup at all. It’s just not something I that I am into. That’s the truth. I also prefer how I look without makeup but that might be because that’s the only way I see myself.

Unless there is a photo-shoot where makeup is needed I prefer to let my skin breathe. This is just a personal choice. There are a lot of great brands out there that I do use if ever I decided to step outside of my daily comfort zone of the naked face. But generally, in my case, foundation or powder is not a part of the equation. I am really into a good lip liner, lipstick, lip gloss and brow powder these days. I use the brow powder to enhance my thick black eyebrows. I also apply a quality lip liner, lipstick and gloss to keep my pout at center stage. Kissable lips are a must; I am sure you agree.

If you want to achieve this look. You will have to start with a good skincare regimen. A clear glowing complexion is what you should strive for. It’s time to spend a little more time getting your skin in top shape.

Of course, I am always here to help and share. I have rounded up a list of products that will help you get this look and step into the real you in no time. Just stay committed to the cause and trust me you will reap all the rewards the naked face has to offer.
