The Things You Should Know About Apple Music

I am sure you have heard the news that music superstars Drake and Pharrell (he’s always so darn happy) have teamed up with Apple, who is set to launch a music streaming service, geared to compete with dear o’l Spotify, at the end of June.

Things you should know:

Service officially launches June 30, 2015 in over 100 countries.

Subscribers will pay $9.99 a month; for 6 member families $14.99 a month. The first three months are FREE for everyone.

The service doesn’t just benefit established artists – It’s said to benefit new artists as well ( I guess time will tell; I am optimistic).

The service will be in collaboration with Beats (remember Apple bought beats, founded by Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre for $3bn last May).

Radio one DJ Zane Lowe will be in charge of digital live radio station Beats 1. Which is pretty exciting and I am sure people will tune in for this reason.

Beats 1 Radio, an internet based radio station, will be broadcasted from New York, Los Angeles and London, operate 7 days a week, 24 hrs a day.

It’s said to be commercial free radio, but this may change. As of now no commercials and more music! This means you can listen and view (yup this includes music videos) commercial free music all day.

The service offers an online social forum called Connect where musicians can connect with fans and other artists. It offers a more in touch way to connect and share not just music but also videos, song lyrics and more via the Apple Music App.

I have an Android. It’s the only non-Apple product I own. Apple is set to make this app available for Android users as well. So I am looking forward to this. I think any service that closes the gap between artists and fans is worth trying. As you know I think it’s important for us to stay connected. Since music is a connecting force and brings people together. I am all for any forum that aims to keep the love and beautiful connection that music provides people around the world.

Please let me know if you try this service and let me know what you think. I will once it’s available for Android users.
