Skin Therapy with Weleda

Summer is officially over and while you can’t seem to grasp this idea, your skin sure does. It’s time for some skin therapy because your skin will need all the help that it can get as the temperature drops. It’s important to adjust your skincare regimen each season. For the lucky ones, anything goes season after season but this is rare and to be honest, you are most likely still in your early teens if this is your skincare belief. Both men and women need to take care of their skin. Therapy on the outside is just as important as therapy on the inside.

I have often talked about how important it is to use products that are free from harsh toxins and chemicals whenever possible. Your body wash, soaps, moisturizers and body scrubs should be as natural as possible. Your skin is tough and delicate at the same time. Don’t jump out of the shower and simply dry off and put your clothes on. A good body oil applied while your skin is damp, for those who are a little lazy, is just as good as a good body butter. For those with dry skin, you may have to apply a good body butter or moisturizer in addition to body oil.

You may also notice that your lightweight face moisturizer does nothing for you in the winter. You may notice your skin looks dull and dry. It’s time to exfoliate and get a thicker moisturizer that is specifically for the cooler months. Most skincare brands carry both a lotion and a cream. The purpose is to use the one that works for the season and your skincare needs.

I discovered Weleda maybe 7 years ago at a health store. I am a big fan of body oils.  I use quite a few of Weleda’s body oils. There are so many to choose from and they smell amazing. No added perfumes just the natural scents of the oils, herbs and extracts used. I am happy to share that I just joined the Weleda Ambassador Program. This means that you will get to learn a lot about Weleda on this site. In addition, you will also get a chance to win a skincare prize pack filled with pure skin goodness.

WELEDA PRODUCTS I AM CURRENTLY LOVING

Body Oil Body Oil. I seriously can’t live without it. Whether it’s winter or summer, I like to use a good body oil on my skin. As mentioned above, I apply body oil in the shower while my skin is wet. You can also do this once you dry off a bit but damp skin is best. You can also apply some body oil to your skin before bed as an overnight skin treatment.

Lavender is not only soothing, it’s a great skin toner. If you’re suffering from irritated skin, you might want to try a lavender infused body oil. Weleda’s lavender body oil is a mix of lavender, almond oil and organic sesame oil.

Weleda’s pomegranate body oil is a new addition to my routine. It smells amazing and I like the fact that it regenerates and renews your skin. After a nice deep body exfoliation, I apply this to my skin while it’s still damp. I hope you are exfoliating your body and not just your face. I would advise using a body scrub that’s meant for the body and please do not use this on your face. In most cases the granules in body scrubs are too harsh for the skin on your face.

I have mentioned quite a few times on the site that almond oil is a rockstar ingredient. It’s great for your skin. Weleda’s Almond Face Oil for sensitive skin is great. It nourishes, soothes and repairs your skin. It’s an oil that you can use on its own or you can mix it with a lotion of your choice. If you’re a big fan of the oil you might want to try the Soothing Face Cream or Soothing Face Lotion from the sensitive skincare product line.

The Wild Masque has a few of my favourite ingredients in addition to almond oil.  Peach Kernal Oil, Mallow Extract and Rose Moschata Seed Oil soothe the skin. I don’t have fine lines but you don’t have to have them to use a nourishing face masque. Dry skin is inevitable as it gets colder so a masque designed to lock the moisture into your skin is always a good idea. – Check the UK site to purchase if you live in Canada or the US.

Stay tuned for your chance to win a Weleda Skin Therapy Prize Pack!
