Celebrating the good things in life with the ones you love is amazing. There is nothing better than sharing great achievements and moments with other people. I am sure life has taught you sometimes people don’t want to celebrate with you. Your triumphs bring to the surface their insecurities, perhaps their envy and jealousy. There are so many reasons why you should celebrate yourself. One reason that comes to the forefront is, you need to feel joy and gratitude within to appreciate life’s blessings.

When most of us hear good news we call our friends or family to tell them. Whether you are conscious of this or not, we wait for their reaction. We are thrilled when it matches the way we feel about the exciting news we have shared with them. We are disappointed when their reaction falls short of our expectations. This exchange at times, a beautiful one, can also be disheartening. The desire to seek confirmation for our joy. The idea that feeling it for ourselves regardless of someone’s else’s reactions isn’t enough.

This is why I think it’s important to take a moment to sit with our joy while we cultivate our gratitude. Of course, share the good news. Before you do this, give thanks to the universe and be joyous. This small moment that culminates into many moments is significant. It allows you to remain in a state of gratitude. In addition, it shows you that your feelings of joy reside within you and if there is a shift due to outward interactions you haven’t spent enough time practicing gratitude.

Joy can only be sustained if you will it. Even in the hardest times, joy lives, it can live within you. Happiness is simplicity. This life can be your heaven or earth. There are a lot of bad things happening in the world and there are people who are truly struggling. Everything is relative. There are things occurring that are beyond our control. This we know is part of the human experience.

We can only control ourselves. How we think. How we think will dictate how we feel and how we feel will influence how we think. The two are interconnected. Did you know something as small as celebrating yourself can change your life? Even the small things, there are small wins every day. It will alter the way you see yourself. This act will encourage you to remove negative thought patterns that keep holding you back.

It’s a shame that people feel embarrassed when revelling in the joy of being who they are. Feeling good about the good things that they have been blessed with. The notion of humility and the framework it’s been built around has led people to diminish themselves. Feel and act as if they are unworthy. You don’t have to play yourself small. It’s okay to acknowledge your greatness. Stand tall.

Celebrating yourself doesn’t mean you are better than others. Nor should anyone feel this way around you. Those who generally do need to spend more time cultivating gratitude and self-love. The greatness we see in others should inspire us. Joy is a ripple effect when the mind is clear and the heart of full of gratitude.

As energetic beings it’s important for us to recognize the ways in which absorb and emit energy. This flow that happens all around us is quite powerful. I want you to celebrate the simple things first. The glossy big things in life, the peak of the mountain top, are built off of the small things we overlooked.

When you look ahead, it’s not beyond to the things you cannot see. The destination you haven’t reached yet but will one day. You need to look at what is right in front of you. There is so much for you to see and give thanks to. It’s as simple as the breath you take each second you are alive. When we meditate we breathe, when we do things we create flow and when we flow we let go and allow joy and contentment to rush in.

Something you do every day, without it, you cease to exist. It’s not an event, it’s not a reward. It’s a continuous occurrence that happens for you every day. It’s the greatest win, a joyous win. Take a deep breath in, now exhale. Inhale and exhale joy so it is all around you and it becomes everything that you are and everything that you touch.
