Music To Our Ears: Kelela & Jessie Ware

It’s been a while since I have posted my favourite new music of the month! To be honest, I haven’t heard anything that’s inspired me. I am not sure what that’s about but I didn’t want to post anything until I found something that I genuinely like and listen to. Please let me know who you are currently listening to!! I am putting my cold weather playlist together and would love to add some new artists.

Kelela

Kelela is an American songwriter, and singer. You may know her from her mixtape Cut 4 Me. I discovered her a few weeks ago actually and I have to tell you her sound takes me back to classic 90’s R n B where it was all about capturing the moment with smooth vocals and production that didn’t overpower the singer. This style of music allowed you to connect with the message rather than get lost in the noise. Songs I am loving from her first full-length album Take Me Apart: LMK, Turn To Dust and S.O.S.

Jessie Ware

If you have been following along, you will know that this isn’t the first time I have featured English songwriter and singer Jessie Ware. She’s back with her new record Glasshouse. It’s currently on repeat all day while I work. I am sure you will fall in love with this album as well. I have a feeling that this is going to be a big record for her and if you didn’t know about Ware, you will by the end of 2018. Songs from this record that I think you will love instantly are Thinking About You, Finish What We Started, Alone and First Time.
