Host A Glamorous Halloween Party

Halloween is 6 weeks from now! I am not sure what it is, but for some reason when it comes to Halloween I do everything last-minute. This year I would like to do things a little different. I am always stressed out looking for a costume or finding decor pieces if I am hosting a Halloween themed dinner party. Sometimes, for me, Halloween is just as stressful as Christmas, although during the holiday season I am very organized.

I love hosting a dinner party or get together. It’s nice to bring people together in an environment where you can actually catch up. I know a lot of my friends prefer to host a Halloween party or dinner party rather than go out.  I think it’s a good idea to get your decor and Halloween themed items a few weeks in advance. You don’t get to enjoy yourself if you are stressed out the day of the party.

Purchase items that you can store away and use for a few years. Look for decor accents that won’t look dated if you want to use them again. Lanterns are great because you can use a LED candle inside. Not only will it last longer you don’t have to worry about an accidental fire. For a glam Halloween party, I wouldn’t overdo it with traditional Halloween colours, but rather use them as accents. A lot of white, black, gold, gray and beige is what I would go with for an elegant Halloween dinner party.

Here are a few great decor items for you to add to consider:

You can use LED candles inside lanterns. Mix and match with tall white LED candles to soften the darker colours. I wouldn’t get more than four of these and I would alternate with the white candles if I used them as an element in a centrepiece.

Don’t forget to use accent pillows to add that extra something to your Halloween themed decor. You can also use it as an accent pillow, something edgy to add to your existing decor (for those who like skulls and edgy decor).

Since Halloween and Thanksgiving fall so close together, pic decor items that compliment both occasions.

Nothing says fall like a wreath. For my wreath lovers, I think this one is perfect for you!

The Bronze Antique Skull will give your table a sophisticated look. Place mini white skulls next to your place cards.

I just love this so I had to include it. What’s Halloween without a few skull statues?!

This decanter is spooky and beautiful at the same time. Fill it with wine or a good whiskey.

DECOR TIPS:

Buy some foliage and leaves from the craft store to create a nice centrepiece. You can also spray paint the leaves gold or add black or gold glitter onto them with an adhesive spray. Accents such as gold cutlery and black and white tableware will also glam up your Halloween themed dinner party. Try to keep things bright with gold, white and beige so darker accents don’t overpower your table. Try white plates paired with gold cutlery. The key to making this party look glam is adding just enough Halloween themed items but not overdoing it.
