Bienvenue Septembre! It’s that time of year again, Toronto International Film Festival aka TIFF. Another year to stroll the red carpet and indulge in too much champagne…there’s never enough champagne!! Thanks to L’Eden by Perrier-Jouët, a garden oasis pop-up at Toronto’s Four Season Dbar Patio, we know that there will be more than enough. Perrier-Jouët’s iconic Belle Epoque 2007 vintage champagne will be perfectly paired with a summer inspired menu by Sylvain Assié. In my opinion, this is the best way to cap-off a gorgeous summer.
Perrier-Jouët is one of my favourite champagnes due to it’s light and refreshing taste. For those who don’t know, Belle Epoque 2007, a Cuvee, is regarded as one of the finest vintages in the past 20 years! C’est trés bien!
What is a Cuvee? Simply, it is the process of gently pressing the best grapes for the best grape juice. In addition, it’s the “first 2,050 litres of grape juice from 4,000 kg of grapes (a marc), while the following 500 litres are known as the taille (tail), and is expected to give wines of a coarser character. Many Champagne producers pride themselves on only using the cuvée in their wine.**”
I hope you stop by this enchanting hidden outdoor oasis designed by Toronto’s Teatro Verde. It’s the perfect place to relax all day or stop by for a glass of champagne and delicious food before or after a movie or the many events that happen during TIFF.
L’Eden is open daily from 11:00 am until close, on a first come first serve basis.
