For the Glamour of Glamping

I was recently asked if I like camping. You know…packing a backpack, a tent and sleeping bag to spend a few nights in the good o’l outdoors. I am all about nature. I love the beauty it has to offer. I love the feeling of being far away from the city. I particularly like the idea of a house by the lake…you know a cottage. So in other words, you won’t find me camping any time soon. You would sooner find me ‘glamping’ and I know I am not the only fan of this new camping style that first gained popularity in Africa; the glamping pioneer.

Beautiful white tens, decked out with all a girl could ask for. A nice front porch, where you can lounge and enjoy a nice evening of star-gazing. Most importantly a bed to sleep in at night. So when I stumbled upon this North American glamping gem Yellowstone Under Canvas, in Montana, I knew I had to share it. You still get to experience the wide open spaces of mother nature but with a little more comfort than a sleeping bag. Better yet, they have fully equipped luxury tents with ensuite bathrooms (my room of choice) for those who don’t like to share. They have a few tent style choices to pick from so there is something for everyone. Even those who want a little more of an outdoorsy vibe, you can sleep in a tipi tent instead of a luxe Safari tent. This allows a big group of friends/family to camp together but choose the accommodation style that best suits them.

One of the things I quite like about where this glamping site is located is that it offers a lot of outdoor activities. Particularly, horseback riding and kayaking, two of my favourite activities believe it or not. You can also go zip lining, raft the Galatin River, fly fishing or take a ride on an atv. Another bonus, they offer a spa treatment package. So I would say, I would be pretty happy here and the reviews online confirm it’s a one of a kind place you should consider as your first glamping experience. I almost forgot to mention they have a full restaurant on site and a bed and breakfast package.
