Fall For Denim

I hope you know by now, that keeping your denim in good condition is a requirement. Every fall, in fact really every season; you need denim. You won’t ever escape this, therefore you must accept it. I love a great pair of fitted jeans. I simply love denim, whether its a skinny pair of jeans, a denim jacket or skirt, you can’t go wrong with denim in most cases.

The best time of year to buy denim, in my opinion is the fall. Every style and fit is available, which means more selection. You will also notice you have a choice of lighter and heavier denim grades. In addition, you can get great pieces at affordable prices. I also say err on the side of quality above anything else. Savings should be a long term goal. Sometimes, you spend more now so you don’t have to spend anything later! But I will tell you, buying a pair of jeans that fit well under 100 bucks makes me happy as well.

Here are some of my current denim choices for the fall:

Treasure & Bond

Lightweight soft denim. They look great on and feel really nice against your skin. Another added benefit (if you’re all about spending money on brands that are dedicated to GOOD causes): Nordstrom will donate 2.5% of net sales (that’s 5% of net profits) to organizations that work to empower youth.

Free People

I have been a fan of this brand for many years. I stumbled upon it while I was in LA and I am happy they are finally opening up stores in Toronto. You can also get Free People goods at the Hudson’s Bay. I have never worn their denim, but I think there’s not time like the present.

The flare, I own a few pairs. I just bought two new pairs of flare cut jeans. I think they’re super sexy and stylish; you really can’t go wrong pairing them with a nice blouse and ankle boots.

AG Denim

This another brand I discovered in LA. I still own all the jeans I have purchased from this brand. This slouchy boyfriend fit that is relaxed in the hips and tapered in the legs compliments both casual and dressy footwear. Really, always think versatility whenever possible.

Rag and Bone

I have a pair of their black ripped denim skinny’s from last year. When I saw these, I honestly freaked out! Why? Well I am in love with tartan aka plaid and patch work details. These jeans are statement on their own. A simple white crip t-shirt would do. I would even consider a denim shirt (Canadian Tuxedo) or beautiful simple blouse. These are definitely the pair of jeans you keep because patch work on denim; it’s just darn cool. This is a slim fit boyfriend jean (thighs and waist).

Burberry Brit

I read an article recently that stated leather was out. Umm? Since when is leather ever out? Sorry Felicia, your style meter isn’t working. Leather will always be in and should be a staple in your wardrobe. Not only is it sexy, it adds a nice bold edge to your look. If wearing leather isn’t your thing, you can opt for a coated denim.  With this denim, you get the look of leather but denim provides a light weight feel. These Burberry Brit metallic finished jeans are perfect. I like how the ankles tapper.

Hudson Jeans

Welcome the softest pair of jeans you will ever own. Hudson’s were making jeans feel like a comfy pair of tights way before the jegging trend started. Since, we have come to terms with the fact that wearing white after labour day is a good thing. I suggest you opt for a dressier look when it comes to wearing white jeans during colder months. A nice fitted high waisted pair of white jeans is a great start.  I also like the ankle skimming length of these. These jeans fit so well. I love them!

There are so many great styles out there, but now you have an idea of what I am currently into.

Falling for denim is never a bad thing and besides I have never had a pair of jeans break my heart.
