Brow Envy: 3 of the best Brow Pencils

As you know, I prefer a natural and glowing look when it comes to make-up. Every now and then it’s great to go all out and get your face done; every now and then though. Your everyday make-up should look effortless and not like a music video. That’s just my opinion. It look ridiculous, I am sorry for those offended but someone has to tell you the truth. People want to see the real you. Besides, isn’t it exhausting having to run to the bathroom every morning to reapply loads of make-up, in fear that someone might see what you really look like?

Another question I get is: “How do you take care of you skin?” “What’s your secret?” Well the secret is, I don’t wear a lot of make-up daily, well really none. Even if I am going through a break-out…I know, too brave for some, but I find it pointless to spend time covering up blemishes (you can still see them). The secret is, I do like a few things that I think we all can use daily. As you know, eyebrows are the craze these days. Everyone wants Cara Delevingne worthy brows. Have you noticed she goes au naturel and simple on a regular basis in terms of make-up? She is clearly on to the beauty secret of maintaining that youthful look everyone craves which is let your skin breathe and let the real you shine through.

There are some simple things you can do to enhance your look. A great brow will make all the difference. In fact a great brow pencil is worth the investment. There’s nothing wrong with getting a few as well. Not all brow pencils are made alike or create the same look. Whether you’re going for a dramatic brow or something light and subtle (your everyday brow), you need to find the right pencil that works well for you. Some prefer powders, but I thought I would feature three of my favourite brow pencils that you can take with you everywhere and anywhere. They also create more of a natural look.

CHANTECAILLE BEAUTE

Chantecaille Waterproof Brow Definer - Oak Brown

Chantecaille Waterproof Brow Definer – Oak Brown $36.00

This triangular tip brow pencil, by Chantecaille Beaute contains one of my favourite ingredients, Avocado Oil. Avocado oil nourishes the skin and will keep your brows soft and healthy. In addition, it’s waterproof and it’s made of wax and powder to make brows look fuller.

SOURCILS’S POUDRE by DIOR

Dior 'Sourcils Poudre' Powder Eyebrow Pencil - 453 Soft Brown

Dior ‘Sourcils Poudre’ Powder Eyebrow Pencil – 453 Soft Brown  $42.81

The good news about this brow pencil is that it comes in six shades, so if you love one you can get another shade (comes in midnight blue!). If you want a denser shape to your brow, but still natural at the same time get your hands on this pencil. It has a long-wearing powder texture (wax and powder). You will most likely never go back to the hassle of brow powder once you try this pencil.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY BROW LIFT

Charlotte Tilbury 'Brow Lift' Three-Way Shape, Lift & Shade Eyebrow Pencil

Charlotte Tilbury ‘Brow Lift’ Three-Way Shape, Lift & Shade Eyebrow Pencil  $44.28

This is a 3-in-1 brow pencil that will add great definition, a smooth shape and a bit of a lift. If that doesn’t make you want one, I am not sure what to tell you. I am all about easy make-up tools, particularly if you’re always on the go. You can also view an online tutorial on Charlotte Tilbury’s website. Oh and FYI there’s a star ingredient in the highlighter (LIFT) I have to mention: Jojoba Seed Oil – great for dry skin which often can happen in the brow area.

There you have it. Please let me know if you try any of these. Also, let me know which one’s are your favourites. Extra Tip: Remember to gently exfoliate your brow area and apply a bit castor oil, jojoba seed oil or avocado oil at night (just a little drop on a q-tip). This will keep them looking healthy and fresh. In addition, the rule of not sleeping with you make-up on applies to your brows as well; don’t neglect this area when cleansing.
